A few weeks back I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of the newly minted couple, Kate and Collin. The wedding took place at the house of the groom’s father. It had a beautifully maintained garden and yard that sloped into a dense section of Louisiana bottomland. The couple met and have lived in Vietnam for the past few years, where they both work in media-related jobs, the wedding reflected a unique mixture of their Vietnamese present and Collin’s Louisiana roots. Zydeco played into the night as people from all over the world danced, drank Abita beer and dined on cochon de lait.
The wedding was a lovely expression of the couple’s understated and globe-trotting personalities. It was also nice that they were excited to have me apply some of the treatments I typically do to the photos of their wedding. Although the light was a bit harsh during the ceremony, everything turned out nicely, in my opinion, and added to the naturalness and ease that all the wedding-goers seemed to embrace.
Thanks for letting me be part of your special, charming and unique day.
